The Peoples Party of Punjab is an Indian political party formed in March 2011 and based in Punjab. As of January 2012, the leader was Manpreet Singh Badal, a former Member of the Legislative Assembly who resigned his seat in order to found the party. The Peoples Party of Punjab (PPP) was formed in March 2011 by Manpreet Singh Badal, a four-time MLA in Punjab, India, who had been expelled from the Shiromani Akali Dal in October 2010. Badal resigned his seat in the Punjab Legislative Assembly immediately prior to announcing the new party
